The selection marks the first time
in 72-year history that the CEO/national commander
was chosen by the BoG. The new
selection process became official in
October 2012 when the BoG
approved an updated Constitution
and Bylaws incorporating the new governance structure.
Previously, commanders were elected by a majority vote
of National Board.
